Demonstration Forest
OTM partnered with Iowa Conservation Corps (MCC) crews to complete trail maintenance, sign installation, and trail brushing throughout a whopping 30 miles of existing trail in Demonstration Forest in Two Harbors, Minnesota. The crews also built seven miles of new multi-use trail (biking and hiking) that allows all-season riding in an area that was previously only accessible in the winter. The hand-built singletrack takes riders from boreal forest to northern hardwood through a Red Pine plantation, offering a punchy, flowing ride experience. The trails can also be used in the winter for cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and fatbiking. There are restrooms, a shelter and an information kiosk located near the parking area. Stay tuned for more in 2021.
