Ely’s Peak Stone Age
Ely’s Peak Stone Age
The Stone Age Trail at Ely’s Peak, known for its challenging terrain, is a haven for experienced mountain bikers. This 1.25-mile double black diamond loop features a rigorous climb that pushes riders to their limits in both endurance and bike handling. The descent is equally thrilling, offering a fast-paced blend of rolls, drops, and jumps that demand skill and daring.
One Track Minds’s trusted partner, Minnesota and Iowa Conservation Corps youth crews in collaboration with COGGS, focused on enhancing the connection between the technical uphill section and the rocky descent. A significant part of this project involved constructing a large berm designed to reward riders maintaining momentum out of a challenging chute, along with bench-cutting work to improve the trail’s flow and safety.
