Turquoise Lake Update

July 8, 2020

Leadville’s largest trail construction project in years!

In June the Cloud City Wheelers began the construction of an 8 mile system in Lake County’s Turquoise Lake Recreation area funded by the One Track Mind Foundation.

These trails will leverage the unique terrain formed by glaciers during the Ice Age. In 2019 the area underwent drastic tree clearing, creating an exciting opportunity for a variety of trails to be built. These trails will be loved by all ages and abilities and will include some of the best mountain views in the state.

Working with the Newmont Corporation, OTM’s amazing partners, Cloud City Wheelers will create 4 miles of directional trails. These trails will provide the closest natural surface trails to the City of Leadville, linking town with the Mineral Belt Trail and the Timberline Trail System.
